The Greatest Explaination for my Religion that I've Seen in a Long Time

I happened across an interview online between NYROCK and Sully Erna of Godsmack. As everyone knows, Sully is Wiccan (right on!). He was asked during the interview to "explain what it was all about"... and I have to say after reading Sully's response- it's one of  THE BEST 'simple' explainations I've seen in a long time and figured I'd share it here:

Sully's response:

"Contrary to what most people wish to believe, Wicca is a very peaceful, harmonious and balanced way of thinking, an earth religion if you want. I believe it is the oldest religion, definitely pre-Christian, and we don't worship Satan or the devil because we don't believe in it. We believe that the earth is a mother to us all and we should honor and respect her and live a harmonious life. We don't own the earth but we are part of it and to destroy it means to destroy ourselves. We respect life above all. Respect for life and free thought I'd say are the basics for Wicca. We respect every other religion because we think all gods and goddesses are the same. People just worship them in a different way. Wicca is often mistakenly associated with evil, but we believe in Karma and if we do something bad it comes back to haunt us, as a godsmack! That's the basic creed, harm none. We don't sacrifice people and we don't sacrifice animals because we believe in harming no one. We also don't worship Satan; he is a Christian creation and they can keep him. Wicca doesn't work with fear. It's about your own consciousness and doing what's right. We believe in the Law of Three: whatever you do comes back three fold, good or bad."

(Sully Erna of Godsmack- such a beautiful man.. hehe)

4 stars.

Hi Mystic Lady! How are you? I just got home from work and I'm really pooped. Been thinking about you though. Glad you had a great time at the concert. I'm off tomorrow but still have to go to school. I will post before I go. Did U know that back in the olden days everybody were Pagans until Christianity came along which I think was a brainwash. I like the concept of your religion. I'll see U tomorrow, I'm really tired now. Goodnight and Sweet Dreams...!

Hi ML... Thanks so much for coming by to see me, the other day; it really meant a lot to me, and I'm sorry that I haven't come by sooner to thank you. Everything is jumbled up, right now, and trying to sort things out is a challenge that feels overwhelming, at best, and Herculean, at worst. It's been a rough week, to say the least...

I agree that the explanation about Wicca is an excellent one. My sister is Wiccan, and this helps me to better understand her beliefs. I'm glad you posted it, ML...

I hope you have a good day, my friend. Thanks again for coming by...

Hi there! I was late this morning so I was unable to post. I just did one a few minutes ago, a short one... LoL. I don't want to bore U to tears. he!he! Oh yeah, about that topic, I know how it was back then. I've done some reading about it. I do believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs and must be respected. So take care now and enjoy the rest of the week!
